Ho Hummmms

Well I just spent the last two weeks sick that was a job. The worst part of it all is I didn't get to enjoy my visit with my nieces near like I wish I could have I just had no energy.. I didn't even make Molly's cake, I did get her a really cool my little pony cake but I had a castle all planned, I'll just have to go to her house and make one this summer I guess.

The actual cold didn't seem to last too long, but I couldn't get the coughing under control so the 2 rounds of antibiotics, the narcotic cough syrup and steroids finally did the trick and I after 10 days have 80% of my voice back. Yeaaa not sure everyone in my house is happy now that mom can "yell" again... LOL

Ashley's junior prom was Friday night, I tried not to let it affect me but it did, this is my baby.. she isn't suppose to dress up and go off looking all grown up not to mention in 5 weeks she will technically be a senior in high school and we have college visits to look at this summer. Where has the time gone.. although some days I want to scream she drives me crazy she is a great kids typically sassy 17yr - don't know where she gets that from must be her dad!! - but other days I want to hold on tight and never let her go..

Okay now I am bummed.. time for ice-cream..

Friday night movies

Watching Marley and Me, its good not exactly what I thought it would be but okay. Like the book better. Have found lately that to be the case.. I read the book and then watch the movie.

Having a good time this week except for the fact that I ended up sick but getting better thank goodness. I ended up losing my voice and although I am sure Craig and the kids are happy about that its not been fun.

We went to the Masters for the first time on Tuesday. I won the lottery and got 4 practice round tickets - gave two to my brother for his christmas and birthday presents. We of course ended up with the COLDEST day of the week. It was a high of 55 according to the weathermen however I think they were fibbing to make it sound better than what it was... we FROZE.. and I ended up sick. But still had fun, it was great.. I know about golf and might watch 10-15 minutes here and there but never a big overall fan however if you ever get the chance to go then go.. it is way more beautiful than any picture could ever do justice. We saw a ton of players - didn't see Tiger he didn't really practice that day due to it being so cold and the rest of the week had been in the high 70's - again of course.

Final thought on Marley and Me - I am sooo not a dog person. :-)

2 Day in a row!

No the world is not coming to an end - I really am updating my blog two days in a row. Had a great time with my nieces yesterday they are so funny and love their Aunt Jennifer. I always worry about that since I live so far away from them and don't get to see them but every 4-6 months if I am lucky. But I call alot and talk to them so I think that helps. Molly is getting ready to be 4 this week so I get to spend her birthday with her and then her sister Carly Beth is close to 2. They are so fun to be around when they are this age and don't turn in to the surly 17 year old that I have now. :-)

They are down here to go to the Masters with us. I got 4 tickets to the practice round on Tuesday so the "grown ups" are going while my teenagers watch the young ones. yea.. we are looking forward to it.

Finding myself..

Okay so I have been told in order to have this blog I need to actually blog.. so here goes boy will you guys be sorry.

I have decided after being asked a question about my faith and why I believe the way I do and my answer being "Because that's what my Dad told me" that maybe being almost 37 (this Friday) that it was time I found out for myself. So with some very good advice from a dear friend, an Aunt and my father I have a place to start in the Bible and I have a new mission. One that I am sure is bound to bring lots of questions so I hope the 3 that gave me a place to start have answers. HAHA

As for the home front.. things are good we have 2 months until Craig comes home and for some reason this has just been a hard deployment. We dealt with for the first time being gone for the Holidays, and not to mention the usual run of the mill stuff around the house that has to break etc. I always thought that these cruises would be easier when the kids got older. WRONG! It just brings new worries but I thank god every day for the 3 wonderful children I have and my loving husband who puts up with my "little quirks".

Okay well hope this works for now as it is late and I have more sewing to do..

Okay well we are going to try this blog thing. I never have much to say but then again maybe I do. :-)

I am the wife of a US Navy Chief. Craig has been in 18 years 1 month - not that we are counting or anything. Craig and I met when we were 14 and I started 9th grade at a new school and that started a 6 yr love/hate affair. We got married in 1992 and have 3 wonderful children.. Ashley 16, Kristi 14, and Jason 9. We currently live in Augusta, GA and really like it here. Plans are to stay in this area for at least 3 more years but then again life in the Navy doesn't always allow us to keep those plans.
